UNIVERSITY OF MAIDUGURI BEGINS PREPARATIONS FOR NUGA GAMES
The Sports Office of the University of Maiduguri has commenced preparations for the upcoming National University Games Association (NUGA) tournament, scheduled to hold at the University of Jos soon. This was revealed by the Sports Director of the University, Professor Zakariya Nayawo during a meeting with Faculty Sports Representatives at the NUGA Hall of the University recently.
Professor Nayawo announced that as part of the preparation process for the upcoming NUGA tournament, inter-faculty sports competitions will be organized to select athletes who will represent the University at the event. He revealed that all necessary arrangements have been concluded for the inter-faculty games, scheduled to take place from August 4th to 16th, 2025. He encouraged students across all faculties to participate actively in the upcoming competitions.
In his remarks, the Deputy Director of Sports, Mr. Amos Chiroma provided details of the various sporting events that will be featured during the competition. He revealed that the opening ceremony will kick off with a female five-a-side football match, while the competition will conclude with the male football finals.
Mr. Chiroma also commended the University’s performance in past NUGA games and other sporting events, expressing appreciation to the University management for its continuous support and commitment to sports development.
