Faculty of Education Conducts In-House Training for Junior Administrative Staff

In line with the directive from the Office of the Registrar, in-house training sessions have been ongoing across various faculties of the University of Maiduguri.

On March 18, 2025, the Faculty of Education, which comprises six departments, held its training session for junior administrative staff at the Faculty Board Conference Room. The session, which commenced at 10:00 AM, was facilitated by Mr. Madu Ndirmbula, former Director of Human Resources, and Mr. Saidu Garba, Deputy Registrar.

Mr. Ndirmbula opened the training by outlining its objectives, which included enhancing administrative skills in minute-taking, report writing, and memorandum drafting. He emphasized that the training targeted Administrative Assistants, Administrative Officers, and Assistant Registrars. He then introduced Mr. Saidu Garba as his co-facilitator.

Mr. Garba began the session with an introduction to minute-writing, commending the university management for organizing the training. He provided insights into the university’s administrative structure, explaining the roles of top management and various university committees. In his closing remarks, he reminded the participants that they serve as representatives of the Registrar in their respective departments and should uphold the highest standards of professionalism.

The second segment of the training was led by Mr. Ndirmbula, who provided an in-depth discussion on report and memorandum writing. He highlighted key writing techniques and stressed the importance of collaboration with Faculty Officers, given their role as representatives of the Registrar.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, during which Mr. Ndirmbula addressed participants’ questions. He closed the training by encouraging the administrators to apply the knowledge gained and excel in their respective roles.
