FACULTY OF PHYSICAL SCIENCES ELECTS NEW DEAN
On Monday 13th October 2025, members of academic staff in the Faculty of Physical Sciences converged to elect a new Dean of the Faculty. After the accreditation of voters, the outgoing Dean expressed appreciation to members of staff for their continued support in running the affairs of the Faculty.
The electoral officer, Alhaji Habu Kachalla called on the two contestants, Professor Ibrahim Baba Goni and Professor Baba Gana Kolo to embrace the outcome of the election in good faith.
After the electoral officer read out the guidelines of the election at about 11:00am, members proceeded with the voting. The election was conducted in favour of Professor Ibrahim Baba Goni, who scored a total vote of 66, while Professor Babagana Kolo scored 46 votes.
Professor Ibrahim Baba Goni as the former and newly elected Dean,commended both the electoral officer and the voters for their patience and support in ensuring smooth conduct of the election. He further assured the stakeholders of reliable and efficient leadership. At the end of the exercise, the newly appointed Dean nominated Professor Joseph Clement as the sub-Dean of the Faculty of Physical Sciences.
