Directorate of Media and Information Conducts One-Day Training for Information Desk Officers on Online News Bulletin

The University of Maiduguri's Directorate of Media and Information has organized a one-day training session for faculty Information Desk Officers on utilizing the newly developed online news magazine. This platform aims to enhance the dissemination of information from various faculty departments to the general public.

The training was held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Central Administration)'s Conference Hall, located in the Senate Building of the University of Maiduguri.

Dr. Amina Abana from the Department of Mass Communication and an editor of the Unimaid Bulletin facilitated the session. She provided insights on report writing and editing while welcoming the Information Desk Officers. She also encouraged them to remain attentive and dedicated to their roles, as assigned by the University Management.

In his opening remarks, the Acting Director of the Directorate of Media and Information, Abubakar S. Biye, urged the Information Desk Officers to collaborate with their respective faculty deans and report on academic and administrative activities within their departments. He emphasized the importance of their commitment to this responsibility, as the University Management is dedicated to leveraging digital platforms for effective public communication.
