The Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Maiduguri held an  award ceremony for some students of the Department for their excellent performance in the NIDC course. The award ceremony which took place at the Faculty conference room recently was declared open by the representative of the vice chancellor Professor Goni Ibrahim.

Professor Mohammed Musa, who made the opening remarks welcomed all the students and congratulated the recipients of the award. He urge the awardees to be good ambassadors of the Department and the University at large at all times and call on other students to emulate them. Cash awards were given to the students for their excellent performance in  the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions respectively. , 

The Head of Department of Economics Dr Baba Ali Ashemi extends his warm congratulations and well wishes to the awardees on their outstanding feats,which is a testimony of their exceptional performance and commitment to academic excellence. He further stated that the students remarkable achievement and success not only brought pride to the institution but also inspired current students dream boldly,  think creatively and learn with purpose.
