Faculty of Physical Science Elects New Heads of Departments
The Faculty of Physical Science elects new Heads of Departments. The election which was conducted at the Faculty Board room on 14th May 2025 was adjusted to be transparent, free and fair. It was presided by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Ibrahim Goni, assisted by the Sub-Dean, Professor Joseph Clement and the Faculty Officer, Hajiya Fatima B. Abba.
The Dean of the Faculty, highlights the significance of leaderships in the various departments of the Faculty and stated that the election was conducted based on the University's criteria governing the conduct of elections of Heads of Departments (HoDs) and the rule and regulations of the Faculty. He further said that it is a historic occasion for him as a Dean of the Faculty.
The election saw the emergency of Prof Emmanual Benga as HoD, Computer Science, Dr Mohammed Bukar as HoD Geology, Prof Ahmed Bruno, HoD Mathematics, Dr Aliyu Adam, HoD Physics , Prof. Naomi Ndahi, HoD Chemistry and Dr.Hamidu Aliyu HoD Statistics.
In his closing remarks, the Dean, Faculty of Physical Sciences, Prof Ibrahim Goni reiterated that the election was conducted in a matured manner where everyone is carried along. He urged the newly elected HoDs to be diligent, committed and dedicated in discharging their duties.
