Unimaid vc receives NASU national body

UNIMAID VICE-CHANCELLOR COMMENDS NASU NATIONAL BODY 

The Vice-Chancellor University of Maiduguri, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, received the National Executive Members of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), who visited the university to commiserate with their members affected by a recent flood disaster.

The courtesy visit took place at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Council Chamber Annex, University of Maiduguri, on Wednesday, the 5th March, 2025.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, the University Librarian, Professor Yahaya Aliyu, commended the National Executive Council of NASU for their commitment and generosity in supporting affected members. He acknowledged NASU’s financial assistance, worth millions of naira, aimed at alleviating the losses incurred due to the flood.

Speaking during the visit, the National Deputy President of NASU, Comrade Buhari Suleiman, expressed his sympathy to the Vice-Chancellor and the Borno State Government over last year’s flooding in Maiduguri. He described the gesture as a demonstration of the union’s solidarity with the university community.

Comrade Suleiman also appreciated the university management for its continuous support of the University of Maiduguri NASU branch and urged them to maintain their cooperative stance towards

the union.
