As part of the University of Maiduguri’s transformative agenda for digitisation and streamlining of academic and administrative processes across all units within and outside the University, the Directorate of Affiliated Colleges organised a one-day training workshop for Directors, Coordinators, Examination Officers, and Bursary staff of affiliated institutions.
The workshop, themed “Enhancing Efficiency through Digitisation of Results Submission and Payments,” was held on Wednesday, 3rd September 2025, at the Aliyu Shugaba Hall, Muhammadu Indimi International Learning Centre, University of Maiduguri.
Declaring the event open, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, reiterated the management’s commitment to digitisation, noting that efficiency and transparency are assured through digital processes. He stressed that the adoption of digital academic and administrative systems is in line with the Federal Government’s directive on digital administration and conforms with global best practices.
Professor Mele commended the Directorate of Affiliated Colleges and assured them of his management’s continued support. He welcomed participants to the university and urged them to utilise the training as a tool for capacity building, describing them as “architects of digital transformation.”
Earlier, the Chairman of the occasion and Provost of the College of Postgraduate Studies, Professor Yakubu Mukhtar, described the training as timely, stressing that it would enable staff of affiliated institutions to key into the University’s efforts to enhance productivity, promptness, and transparency.
In his welcome address, the Director of the Directorate of Affiliated Colleges, Professor Mohammed Munkaila, described the event as a significant milestone in the University’s journey toward academic excellence and institutional accountability. He explained that the workshop was a direct response to recurring challenges that had hindered optimal collaboration between the University and its affiliated institutions.
