VC RECEIVES MEMBERS OF FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES
The Vice-Chancellor University of Maiduguri, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, has received the Dean and members of the Faculty of Social Science during a courtesy visit to his office at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building on 15th October, 2025.
Professor Mele reaffirmed his steady commitment, maximum support, and cooperation towards advancing the goals and vision of the university. He emphasized his administration’s readiness to provide all necessary resources, encouragement, and institutional backing required by the faculty to enhance academic excellence, research development, and overall institutional growth.
He further noted that the progress of the university remains a collective responsibility and assured the faculty of his continued support in creating an enabling environment for innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development within the university community.
Earlier in his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Musa Abdullahi, commended the Vice-Chancellor for his continuous support and commitment to the development of the faculty. He expressed appreciation for the Vice-Chancellor’s efforts in promoting academic excellence, staff welfare, and infrastructural development across the university.
The Dean also highlighted some of the pressing needs of the faculty, including improved learning facilities and research funding. He appealed for the continued assistance of the university management to address these challenges and further strengthen the faculty’s contribution to the overall growth of the institution.
