The Faculty of Management Sciences of the University held its first public lecture on Saturday, 9th August, 2025, at the Muhammadu Indimi International Learning Center. The event, themed “Leadership, Institutions and Opportunities: The Role of Management Sciences in Civic and Economic Renewal,” marked a significant step in the faculty’s commitment to intellectual and national development.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele praised the initiative, describing it as timely and visionary. He emphasized the urgent need to address governance challenges, institutional decay, and socio-economic instability, noting that management sciences are key to rebuilding society through ethical leadership and strategic thinking.
Distinguished guest speaker Dr. Engr. Umar Buba Bindir delivered a compelling lecture, highlighting the importance of leadership, strong institutions, and equitable opportunities. He stressed that civic and economic renewal require transparency, innovation, and sound management practices, urging students to see themselves as future change-makers.
Dean Professor Shehu Mustapha Liberty welcomed attendees and reaffirmed the faculty’s dedication to producing graduates equipped with academic excellence and leadership values. Sub-Dean Professor Fatima Alfa Tahir extended heartfelt appreciation to all contributors, while plaques were presented to the Vice-Chancellor, Dean, and Guest Speaker in recognition of their roles.
