ASSOCIATION OF PUBLIC PROCUREMENT PRACTITIONERS OF NIGERIA (APPON) PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO UNIVERSITY VICE-CHANCELLOR

The President of the Association of Public Procurement Practitioners of Nigeria (APPON), Dr. James Amem Kanico has described the association as the umbrella body for public procurement professionals across all tiers of government in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He noted that APPON was established to unite and advocate for procurement practitioners, promote ethical standards, enhance professional capacity, and contribute to a transparent procurement system and sustainable national development.

Dr. Kanico made this known during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, in his office on 28th July 2025.

During the visit, he highlighted possible areas of collaboration between APPON and the university, particularly in capacity building and professional development.

In his response, the University Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele welcomed the initiative and expressed interest in working with the association to support the University’s mission of excellence and innovation. He emphasized the potential benefits of the partnership for both parties.

The Vice-Chancellor warmly received the APPON delegation and wished them a safe journey back to their destination.
