The Vice Chancellor of University of Miaduguri, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, has received the acting Dean of Students Affairs, Professor Yahya and the newly elected  executives of the Students Affairs Government in his office at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building on Tuesday.
The Vice Chancellor while welocming them, commended the Acting Dean of Student Affairs for playing a vital role in bridging the gap between the University administration and the Student Union Government (SUG), as well as ensuring students welfare and fostering a conducive learning environment.
 
Professor Mele while emphasizing the importance of open communication and consistent feedback between the Student Union Government, the Student Affairs Division, and the University administration. He noted that such synergy is crucial in addressing student concerns promptly and effectively.
 
In his remarks, the Acting Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Yahya, highlighted various student concerns, needs, and issues which affect both their academic and extracurricular activities and appealed for continued guidance and support from the Vice Chancellor and the University management for SUG initiatives and programmes aimed at enhancing student engagement and development.
 
On his part, the SUG President, Comrade Yahaya Maigari, expressed gratitude to the University management for its unwavering support to students, particularly in providing a conducive learning environment with constant electricity supply, improved security, and the recent introduction of free transportation within the campus. He also appreciated the Acting Dean of Student Affairs for his consistent presence and prompt response to students' immediate needs.
