ASUU NEW EXCO MEMBERS VISIT UNIMAID VC
The Vice chancellor University of Maiduguri, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, has acknowledged the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) for their concerns and expressed his commitment to work together to address staff welfare and other pressing issues by engaging in open dialogue as the both parties can work towards achieving common goals and promoting the university's growth and development.
He made the acknowledgement when the newly elected ASUU Exco Members paid him a courtesy visit with the outgoing chairman of the union in his office on 13th October, 2025
The Vice Chancellor welcomed the newly elected ASUU Exco Members and emphasized the importance of collaboration between the university administration and discussed his vision for the University, which prioritizes academic excellence, research, and community development.
The outgoing chairman of the union, Dr. Abubakar Saidu Mshelia expressed his gratitude to the Vice chancellor for the support during their tenure and welcomed the new Exco members.
The newly elected chairman of the Union, Dr. Mohammed Salisu Waziri reiterated the Union's commitment to work with the university management to address staff concerns and promote the University's growth and development adding that by engaging in open dialogue both parties can work towards achieving common goals and promoting the University's overall well-being
