PROFESSOR PATE DONATES 20 LAPTOPS TO UNIMAID
The University Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele has assured the Department of Mass Communication of the University's necessary support to ensure the funding of the upcoming new Faculty of Communication and Media Studies.
He stated this during a one day interactive session organised by the Department of Mass Communication in collaboration with the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN), and the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters (SNB) on Monday, 28th July, 2025 at the Mohammadu Indimi International Learning Centre of the University.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed profound appreciation to Professor Pate’s generosity for donating twenty (20) laptops to the department and his commitment to supporting communication professionals and students across the country and beyond.
In his speech, Professor Umaru Pate; Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Kashere, Gombe State and President Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN), stated that the donation of the 20 laptops to the department is a significant boost to the upcoming Faculty of Communication and Media Studies to start up the activities and produce better results.
Prof. Pate also pledged to facilitate more support for the new faculty to ensure that it can compete globally by equipping students with qualitative journalism and communication skills needed in the contemporary world.
He then handed over the computers to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, to deliver to the department.
Speaking on behalf of the Department of Mass Communication, Professor Joseph Wilson thanked the donor, Prof. Pate, for empowering the department and assured him of judicious utilisation of the computers in effectively inculcating essential 21st century knowledge and skills in the students.
