TETFund DELEGATION VISITS UNIVERSITY FOR RESEARCH COMMERCIALIZATION MISSION
The Vice-Chancellor of the University received a team from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for a commercial validation exercise, aimed at evaluating research projects with real-world applicability.
The delegation was welcomed by the university management, faculty members, and researchers at the University Annex, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
Representing the Vice-Chancellor, the University’s Registrar, Ahmed Alhaji Lawan, expressed gratitude to TETFund for its continued partnership. He reaffirmed University’s commitment to research excellence, highlighting the institution’s strides in agricultural innovation and other critical areas.
Leading the delegation, Dr. Salihu Girei Bakari, Director of Research, Development and Centre of Excellence, outlined the visit’s core objective to spotlight innovative research conducted at the university that holds promise for commercialization. “We are here to identify research that can be translated into tangible products or services,” he noted.
The visit reflects TETFund’s broader mission to elevate Nigeria’s universities into engines of national development by harnessing academic research to solve practical challenges and stimulate economic growth.
