The Vice-Chancellor University of Maiduguri, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Fact Foundation aimed at fostering innovation, research, and sustainable development, held in his office, at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building, on Thursday, 18th September, 2025.
The Vice-Chancellor was ably represented at the signing ceremony by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Central Administration), Professor Babagana Bako, who signed on behalf of the university
Mr. Vershima Tingir, Project Manager of the Fact Foundation, signed on behalf of the organization.
The agreement outlines a shared commitment to advancing research-driven solutions, building institutional capacity, and creating platforms that will serve as springboards for future innovations.
Speaking at the event, Professor Bako emphasized that the partnership goes beyond formalities. He said the MoU represents more than a formal partnership—it is an investment in the future. By working with the Fact Foundation, UNIMAID is laying the groundwork for innovation, research, excellence, and opportunities that will equip students and staff to face the challenges of tomorrow. Data and information will be central to this collaboration. Together, both institutions are building a solid foundation for the future.
