UNIMAID RECEIVES FEDERAL FIRE SERVICE ON A FAMILIARISATION VISIT
The Vice-Chancellor University of Maiduguri, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, warmly received officials from the Federal Fire Service, North-East Zone A, on a familiarization visit. The visit was held at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building, Council Chamber Annex, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
Professor Yakubu Muktar representing the Vice Chancellor, emphasized the university’s commitment to safety and the importance of strategic partnerships, especially as the university is preparing for its 50th Anniversary celebrations.
The Vice Chancellor then commended the staff of the University of Maiduguri Fire Service for their efforts in ensuring fire free in the university by informing the University community on switching off all electrical appliances when leaving, assuring them that the university will support in all ways to improving their facilities.
The delegation, led by Deputy Controller, Mr. Haruna Ajiya Joji commended the university’s openness to collaboration and pledged the Fire Service’ support through technical assistance, training, and rapid emergency response to protect lives and properties on campus.
