COMMITTEE FOR 40TH NATIONAL ANNUAL QUR’ANIC RECITATION COMPETITION VISITS UNIMAID VC AHEAD OF 2025 COMPETITION
The Vice-Chancellor University of Maiduguri, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, has commended the organisers of the Qur’anic Recitation Competition for their commitment to promoting Islamic scholarship and moral values among students.
The Vice-Chancellor, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Central Administration, Professor Babagana Bako, gave the commendation in his office while receiving members of the committee for the 40th National Annual Qur’anic Recitation Competition (Borno 2025) on Tuesday 7th, October 2025, at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building, University of Maiduguri.
The committee was at the University of Maiduguri on an assessment visit to inspect proposed venue of the event, the Muhammadu Indimi International Conference Centre at the University of Maiduguri The visit also forms part of the committee’s ongoing preparations to ensure the successful hosting of the prestigious national event.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto and the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC), Professor Bashir Garba, expressed appreciation to the University of Maiduguri for its continued collaboration and support in advancing Islamic education and growth of cultural exchange among Nigerian universities.
He therefore called on individuals in the state to participate in the forthcoming Qur’anic Recitation Competition and support the event to promote such competitions in other places within and outside the country.
