The Vice-Chancellor University of Maiduguri, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, has urged the National Universities Commission (NUC) Accreditation Panel to conduct a thorough evaluation of the University’s newly established postgraduate and undergraduate programmes under the Faculty of Management Sciences.
Professor Mele made the call while receiving the NUC accreditation teams at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building on Monday, 27th October 2025.
He encouraged the teams to freely assess the strengths and weaknesses of the programmes and provide constructive recommendations where necessary.
The Vice-Chancellor emphasized the importance of a hitch-free exercise, ensuring that all programmes meet the required NUC standards.
The programmes scheduled for accreditation include:
Postgraduate Programmes: Marketing,
Banking and Finance, and Business Administration.
Undergraduate Programmes:
B.Sc. Social Work,
B.Pharm. Pharmacy.
Professor Mele appealed to all Deans, Heads of Departments, and staff of the Academic Planning Unit to cooperate fully with the NUC accreditation teams and provide all necessary documents and support during the exercise.
