UNIMAID VC RECEIVES NUC ACCREDITATION TEAM
As part of the accreditation exercise for the B.Sc. Food Science and Technology programme, a delegation from the National Universities Commission (NUC), visited the University of Maiduguri on Thursday, 6th November 2025, at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building.
The team was received by the Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, who was represented by Professor Babagana Bako, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Central Administration).
In his welcome remarks, Professor Bako expressed the University’s delight in hosting the panel, describing the visit as a vital step toward maintaining and enhancing academic standards.
He assured the NUC team of the University’s full cooperation, noting that all necessary support and access to physical facilities, staff, and students would be provided to ensure a smooth and successful accreditation exercise.
The accreditation panel, led by Professor Makeri, is expected to assess the department’s academic resources, facilities, and overall programme quality and to make recommendations for further improvement where necessary.
