The University of Maiduguri has taken significant steps to improve the skills of junior administrative staff through internal training. In a bid to enhance efficiency and service delivery, the Office of the Registrar coordinated a one-day in-house training programme for additional personnel from the Faculty of Environmental Studies and the Faculty of Pharmacy.
The training, held in the 500-seat theatre of the Faculty of Environmental Studies, aimed to familiarise participants with university policies and administrative procedures, while also enhancing their expertise in minutes-taking, memorandum writing, and report preparation.
The workshop featured sessions led by seasoned university administrators, including Mr. Madu Ndirmbula, former Director of Human Resources, and Mr. Saidu Garba, former Faculty Officer for the Faculty of Environmental Studies.
Participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to develop their administrative skills, emphasising the relevance of the training to their daily responsibilities and its positive impact on overall productivity.
